Sala Hars was founded in 2017 by Juan Sala and Douglas Harsevoort while studying architecture at Harvard University, where they graduated with Distinction. Prior to founding Sala Hars, its partners worked for Herzog & de Meuron and Johnston Marklee. The office is based in Mexico City, currently working on projects in the United States, France, Mexico and Switzerland. The Practice has lectured in Europe, Latin America, and North America, and has taught architecture and design at Harvard University. Sala Hars’ interest in typology and program encompasses projects ranging from single family houses, mixed use commercial/residential developments, art spaces and museography, high-end retail and hospitality, and institutional projects, finding immense value in various scales and contexts.
