The architecture of the Scalene House is a negotiation between city and house, between living quarters and artistic production, between openness and privacy. Its sharp triangular form stands as a striking deviation from the surrounding city fabric, yet it also engages in a contextual dialogue with the oversized sloping roofs typical of the neighborhood. This duality defines the house—while its exterior may appear unconventional, even disruptive, it subtly nods to the architectural rhythms of its environment. The red concrete, with its rich, earthen hue, grounds the building in its bricked surroundings. Inside, the house has an expansive atrium that bathes the interior in natural light. Openings and terraces allow sunlight to permeate the spaces throughout the day, transforming the interior atmosphere and enhancing the artist's connection to changing light.

The living quarters are deliberately simple, designed to be functional yet flexible, allowing for the ebb of creativity without unnecessary distractions, almost monastic. Every room is conceived as a space where life and work can seamlessly intertwine, fostering an environment that encourages reflection and experimentation. The interplay between sharp geometric gestures, uncompromising use of concrete, and the carefully interlocked interiors creates an architecture that not only serves as a functional living and working space but also nurtures the artistic spirit. The vast, open atrium can be at times a sanctuary to reflect and at other moments a gathering space. Although void, this central open space anchors the house, acting as a peaceful retreat to pause from the intensity of the city with its unexpected scale and atmosphere. The Scalene House is a place where production and reproduction merge.
