Juan Sala of Sala Hars is teaching a design studio for the summer program Design Discovery at Harvard’s GSD. This is a six week intensive program, intended to give students of varying backgrounds an exciting look and new understanding of the discipline as it relates to design.

Sala Hars presented their current work as a series of Acts, six meditations on the conflict between abstraction and figuration in architecture. The projects were framed in relationship to their Ancestors, their direct references, to create a discourse on the lineage of form as it pertains to architectural history and the multiple stances that have been taken in this ongoing debate.
Lecture: The Recursive Projective

As part of the lecture series “Bramante is better than Alberti”, Sala Hars will present a lecture on the Recursive Projective nature of the work of Karl Friedrich Schinkel as compared to that of Henri Labrouste. Participants of the lecture series include Michael Hays, Erika Naginski, Mark Lee, Scott Cohen, and its director Jorge Silvetti.
